Tips for Keeping Good Oral Hygiene While Traveling
Labor Day means relaxing and sleeping in for an
extended weekend, for many people, the coming holiday means travel! If you’re
heading out on a late-summer vacation or a simple road trip, make sure you’re
keeping your teeth and gums healthy along the
way. Here are a few ways to keep your mouth clean (and healthy) while you’re
traveling:
Use the Water You’d Drink
If you’re traveling somewhere you can’t drink
the tap water, don’t use it to floss or brush your teeth either. Use bottled or
treated water for your oral hygiene if you’re traveling somewhere with unsafe
water. Dentists suggest that we need to brush and floss our teeth
daily, we couldn’t neglect this daily routine if we would like to get good
dental hygiene.
Keep Flossing Once Per Day
During your traveling or vacation, it may have
a tight schedule and eat local food a lot, you will ignore to take care of your
teeth, the oral hygiene may get worse because of the ignorance and overburden
to your teeth, so keep flossing your teeth at least once per day to deeply
clean your teeth and remove plaque and leftover particles timely to prevent any
dental diseases, such as tooth decay, toothache, bleeding and gum disease. Take
a mini cordless water flosser with you to have your teeth flossed
easily and effectively so that you can have enough time to enjoy your traveling
time with good oral hygiene.
Gum It Up
Traveling sometimes means waiting longer than
you’d like to brush your teeth. Keep your mouth as clean as possible by using
sugarless gum after eating or sucking on xylitol mints. Green tea can also
protect your teeth, so drink up!
Keep the Sugar on the Down Low
“You’re on vacation!” is a good excuse for
eating, well, anything. That said, sugar-laden treats can do a number on your
teeth and gums. Try to keep the sugary snacks and treats to a minimum. Every
time you expose your mouth to sugar, you’re inviting tooth decay! Then you
will realize how important to get a portable water flosser during your journey
to make your fresh breath.
